Installing Your Furniture |
Some two-part products are provided with installation fixings (eg: to secure top and bottom sections together). For your safety these should always be used. In the case of dressers/bookcases/display cabinets it may be necessary to fix the unit to the wall to avoid tipping.
For smooth door and drawer opening always make sure the floor is level, using wedges if necessary
Wherever possible, try to avoid placing furniture next to radiators and heaters. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures
If your wardrobe doors don’t line up properly, the most likely reason is an uneven floor. Most wardrobes have adjustable hinges to enable you to cancel out slight misalignment. However the best solution is to level up the unit by packing under one foot with a plastic wedge. Backs and drawer bases are made from interlocking pine boards, which may show some shrinkage in service. This is quite normal, particularly in centrally heated homes and this natural characteristic should not be regarded as a fault
