As well as Little Greene Paints 4homes is very excited about the new Little Greene wallpaper collections.
Just like the paint colours Little Greene’s wallpapers are inspired by literally uncovering history. Fragments of wallpapers discovered in some of the finest period homes of the 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries have been brought back to life by being redrawn and finished using the unique subtle colours of the Little Greene colour palette. Because of this, choosing co-ordinating paint colours has never been easier.
The collection includes wallpapers from 18th Century London, then the hub of the emerging wallpaper industry where papers would have been made entirely by hand. The three London ranges cover a whole spectrum of colour and designs from florals to stripes, and even include the several innovative flock designs.
By the 19th Century wallpapers had advanced to continuous rolls, mainly from France, and gradually hand painting was replaced by roller-printing. The 19th Century collection from Little Greene reflects this advancement with their flamboyant Regency period papers including Parisian inspired floral designs and Georgian stripes.
The 20th Century brought with it the means for mass production which resulted in unrestricted wallpaper patterns full artistic expression. If you love the mid-century modern colours of the 50’s and 60’s then the Retrospective collection is for you.
Although steeped in history, the Little Greene collections are perfect to compliment the modern world of today.
Little Greene use a variety of production methods and techniques, including traditional surface-printing techniques that have been used for hundreds of years. All this care and attention to detail ensures that the patterns, colours and finishes are all as beautifully authentic as possible.
